Artist model: Elle est belle Machette

From the same Gobelins team that created Todor & Petru.  Love the eclecticism and pretty much everything about it.  It even has my one eyed jelly monster (sonofabitch).

Would love to put some kind of similar dynamicism (to make more use of the medium) but obviously it wouldn't fit well within the story.

Still needs some retiming.  Change the green puddle at the end to blue to make it more clear.

Pudgy jump

Playing with simple characters. Quite like the first one, the other two were drawn far too late at night.

Cowboy_sound

Wish i could've added cleans.  And birds. Birds would've been nice.

Puddles

Storyboard.  I still have issues with it, but this'll do for now.  When i read it it seems quite short and rushed, but i play to have each shot take a few seconds each so hopefully the pacing won't read horribly.  Also maybe an opening shot of the sun rising or something each day would help.

The aesthetic i'm choosing to run with is the one with the drawn-over photos.  For this reason i want the shots to be very simple, and static. That way i can focus on making the scene look believable.

Concepting

Doodling some ideas.

Top: A super simple critter.  Flat colours with eyelids that mask it's eye.  Blinks, closes it's eye when jumping and it'll just be a silhouette to animate.
Bottom: Concept: photograph with flat colour head, and twisty arms drawn over top in photoshop.  Need to play with this.

Aesthetic

I really dig animations that have been plopped into live action settings. Could be achievable if it's frame by frame with super-simple, flat-coloured characters.  Either traditionally and photographed in it's setting or super-imposed digitally.

They're seen more and more in animated gifs these days too. Simple frame by frame on loop.
